Résumé

Below is a my generic résumé I have created to get into a career in my field. I have also edited it to fit to specific companies.

Cover Letter

Below is a cover letter for a Social Media Marketing position at the Franklin Shopper, a local advertising based sales newspaper.

Letter of Recommendation from Professional Acquaintance.

To whom it may concern,
It is my firm belief that Grant MacKenzie would be an excellent addition to you company and would excel at any position that he would receive.  Mr. MacKenzie has an amazing background in community service and promotes every organization he is involved with in some form of advertising.  I know Mr. MacKenzie personally as he is a founding brother of my fraternity and currently serves as the fraternity president.  A fraternity and any organization requires marketing to promote it and grow.  Mr. MacKenzie has helped the Kappa Delta Phi National Fraternity grow in the area and has taken it from a locally recognized chapter to a chapter that since 2008 has been nationally accredited. He has experience with social media and manages a private Facebook page for the fraternity chapter.
Along with his excellence with Kappa Delta Phi, MacKenzie has also been active with Shippensburg EMS and is a licensed EMT.  He has vast experience with video and photo editing.  I have personally viewed various videos that he has created in Final Cut Pro, including a promotional video for Shippensburg EMS.  Community service and outreach is important to MacKenzie.  He recently worked with a local radio station promoting Locks of Love and cancer awareness.  He assisted them in raising funds and promoting the event.  MacKenzie also for the last few years has promoted the Relay for Life at Shippensburg University in helping them raise funds and increase participation.
MacKenzie is a dedicated worker and has worked at Advanced Auto in Shippensburg for three years,  Although that is not necessarily in his area of study I believe that it shows his dedication and work ethic.  MacKenzie is a Communications/Journalism major with a minor in Business Management.  He graduates this spring in May and intends on staying in Shippensburg after graduation.  He has been actively seeking employment in his field and in my professional opinion he could help promote your organization though social media to the community and also help raise involvement in community issues.  This will provide a great image for your organization, bring more traffic to your site, and please your advertisers by bringing more responses to their paid advertisements.
Please give MacKenzie an interview and an opportunity to show his skill and help him gain in field experience.
Best Regards,
Nathan Neil

Professional Writing

I have written professionally during my time at Shippensburg University. My first article displayed here was published in the slate along with a photo I took. It is about my fraternity conducting a cleanup on a popular party street that tends to not be taken care of. My second article was published in KappaTalk, a magazine for active members and alumni of Kappa Delta Phi Fraternity that has been printed since April 14, 1969. The third is a quick two and a half minute TV news spot that I put together for a project. The fourth is also a quick TV news spot I put together.

Videography

I have spent a lot of time since middle school working with videography. Though in my college time, I haven't created too many videos, there are a couple I can include here. The first is a promotional video to raise awareness and bring new members to Shippensburg Area Emergency Medical Services (SAEMS) our local ambulance company in Shippensburg. My second video was a short video prepared for an editing class (I used some of this footage in my SAEMS video). The third video was not my video but it was the first professional editing the creator had ever done so I assisted and taught him how to edit a video in a professional and proficient manner with Final Cut Pro. The fourth video is an opener I put together for a short piece of Underage Drinking at Shippensburg University.

Promotional Flyers

I have been part of my fraternity's marketing committee for quite some time now, and I have also helped friends out with some marketing pieces for themselves. In this section you will find flyers I have created for the Fraternity's use, as well as a few political advertisements for a friend John Bard.

The flyer above was to advertise a fundraiser we did with a local pizza place. I created the QR code which took the user directly to the event's Facebook page.

These "Table Tents" were used in Shippensburg University's Student Union Building to promote the rush events Kappa Delta Phi held for the week of January 30. Shippensburg's greek life has been slowly declining, so I decided not to put our organization's name on it.

This was one of the logos I created for the Fraternity.

This is another logo I created, a little more professional looking, I used this to add to the relay for life flyer.

The above flyer was provided as a wallpaper background from the American Cancer Society promoting Relay for Life. I used their image with my professional logo above to create awareness for my fraternity's relay for life team.
John Bard has been the Shippensburg Township commissioner for many years and was run out of office by new politicians. He wanted to get back into office because he wants to help the students. Shippensburg University is located entirely within Shippensburg Township.
This was a quick flyer I put together last minute to hang around campus to get votes.
